Jiayun (Peter) Wang began his tenure-track career at Georgia Tech on Oct. 15. He is an assistant professor in the School of Computational Science and Engineering (CSE) specializing in computer vision and AI for healthcare, biology, and science.

School of CSE researchers Kai Wang and B. Aditya Prakash are PIs of a $1.2 million NIH R01 grant to build AI models that consider individual, social, and system factors when treating patients with Type 2 Diabetes and other chronic illnesses.

The three-year initiative gives researchers greater access to AI tools, training, and computing power to help accelerate scientific breakthroughs.

The collaboration will support research in robotics, industrial and systems engineering, and aerospace technology while fostering innovation in foundational and emerging technologies. 

The fall cohort of 18 researchers will participate in a free, fully remote, 5-week program.
